A Conversation with Schuyler Bailar

Wednesday, October 28th at 7:00 PM

Schuyler Bailar, internationally renowned inspirational speaker and inclusion advocate is (virtually) coming to Washington and Lee University on Wednesday, October 28th at 7:00pm ET. As seen on The Ellen Show and The Olympic Channel, Schuyler will tell his groundbreaking journey as the first transgender athlete to compete on an NCAA D1 men’s team in an engaging and uplifting presentation and discussion.

BDSM-inar Workshop

Thursday, October 29th at 7:30 PM

Lucie Fielding, a queer-identified non-binary femme (she/they) and a resident in counseling, will lead a sex education workshop on sexual communication, kinks and fetishes, and sexuality. Learn about the basics from our favorite Sex Week speaker and sex therapist!

What Does It All Mean? Panel

Friday, October 30th at 7:00 PM

Dr. Melina Bell, Lucie Fielding, Jake Reeves, and Dani Roberts will discuss the intersection between gender identity, sexuality, and sexual orientation to wrap up Spooky Sex Week. They will also be answering student questions.

Dr. Melina Bell (she/her) is a professor of philosophy and law at W&L and is the Head of Campus and Community Engagement for the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) Program.

Lucie Fielding (she/they) is a queer-identified non-binary femme and a resident in counseling at Creating Change, PLLC within the Charlottesville Counseling Collective. She has regularly delivered lectures and workshops at professional conferences, counseling and clinical psychology classes, and university sex weeks on topics as varied as trans sexualities, sexual communication, ethical/consensual non-monogamies, out of control sexual behavior (OCSB), and histories of sexualities This is her third year participating in W&L’s Sex Week.

Jake Reeves (he/him) serves as the Assistant Director of Inclusion and Engagement for LGBTQ+ Support. In his role, Jake is responsible for advising and supporting LGBTQIA+ students and developing programming that enhances the LGBTQIA+ student experience. Jake’s area of interest is in queer representation in media, regionality and queer identity, and first-generation student experiences

Dani Roberts serves as the Assistant Director of Inclusion and Engagement. He aims to support and empower students from historically excluded identity groups. Dani’s areas of interest in diversity, equity and inclusion are in activism/advocacy, inclusive program design, and restorative justice practices.
